1960s yellow knit dress

Description

This 1960s yellow knit dress is cute, versatile, and timeless! Dress it up or down. Pair it with just about anything in your closet. It’s the ideal layering piece.

This knee-length cutie has a detachable sash and a 3/4 zipper at the back. Wear it all on its own, cinched with the belt, or paired up with something smashing from your wardrobe.

I would personally pair this 1960s yellow knit dress with these fabulous Franco Sarto boots! Or for a more dressed-up look, wear it with these taupe Kate Spade chunky heels!

It would fit up to a modern US size L (12-14). Measurements, taken flat, are:

B: 18″
W: 17″
H: 18.5″
L: 38″

Fabric does provide stretch.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a small, dime-sized discolored spot on the left side of the chest. Please see photos. It’s faint, but I wanted to point it out. I’ve cleaned the dress extensively, but this faint spot remains.

If you’re a fan of 1960s fashion, the Fashion Institute of Technology has an excellent article breaking down the history, looks, and influences that shaped the incomparable, rebellious fashion of the 60s.

The era was a time of rebellion, and the fashions matched up with those rebellious ideas. Gone were the days of the conformity of 50s fashion.

And even though the miniskirt defined the decade, maxi dresses and mid-length dresses like this one were an important part of the 60s. What I love about this dress is how it can serve as a canvas for a look that is all your own!
