What’s so special about this particular 1969 Gunne Sax dress? I’m glad you asked!
This dress is an original 1969 Gunne Sax by Jessica dress! You see, back in 1969, Jessica McClintock, who would go on to dominate fantasy formal wear back in the 1980s, bought out San Francisco’s Gunne Sax from Carol Miller and Eleanor Bailey.
This means dresses like ones with this black label
are original Gunne Sax dresses! They’re the first dresses Jessica McClintock produced after buying the company. Hello Vintage has a great resource on Gunne Sax!
It’s an OG, baby!
