1970s gray red white shacket
Description
This 1970s shacket in gray, white and red features the most fabulous, groovy dagger collar!
It’s paired here with a fantastic 70s denim skirt, but it would look great with jeans, just about any skirt, or a pair of shorts.
Would best fit a modern US size XL (16-18). Measurements taken flat are:
B: 21.5″
W: 19.5″
L: 27″ shoulder to hem
Fabric does provide stretch.
Shackets are having a moment right now, and I’m here for it! This one from the 70s is perfection with its dagger collar. In fact, I happen to have two of these shackets in the shop. This 1970s shacket red, white, and blue, and it happens to be new with tags. Both are from Carol Henry.
So, what’s special about the shacket?
It’s versatile! You can rock this look fall, winter, and spring. Pair it with a T-shirt. Layer it on over a tank top. Throw on some jeans and maybe pop on some cute earrings, slip into some sandals, and it’s an adorable look with minimal effort.
The word shacket seems like it’s only recently caught on. They’re all over the internet, but where did they originate? Turns out, shackets have been a staple in the wardrobes of working folks since the late 19th century! They were originally used to protect clothing from any spills or dirt encountered during the work day.
