This 1980s batwing leather coat, which was made in Italy, is jaw-dropping!

Gah! I am obsessed! This leather jacket is absolutely stunning! It’s giving Commes des Garçons vibes!

The canvas detailing is darling.

This piece would fit a wide range of sizes. I wear a size S, but this would fit up to a 3XL. Measurements, taken flat, are:

B: 30″ pit to pit
W: 25″
L: 36.5″ shoulder to hem

If you want to pull off a totally 80s look, consider mixing this amazing coat with these 80s Brittania acid wash jeans!

Did you know the batwing or dolman sleeve goes all the way back to the Middle Ages? Talk about vintage! Business of Fashion breaks down the sleeve and explains that the dolman went out of fashion during times of rationing. That is a lot of excess fabric after all. There was a resurgence of the sleeve in the 1940s, but leave it to the excessive 80s when everything was extra to give the batwing its official comeback!

If you’re curious about the history of sleeves and how they’ve evolved, there’s a fascinating piece of at The Weeb Site! It’s kind of wild to think about the evolution of batwing sleeves to mutton sleeves! Totally different looks.
