This 1990s off-the-shoulder top is cute, flirty, and oh-so-sweet! It’s so versatile, you’ll want to pair it with jeans, skirts, and shorts!

And it was practically made to go with these totally awesome 80s jeans from State of the Art! I think these 80s Brittania acid wash jeans would also look great with it!

This cute 1990s off-the-shoulder top is labeled a L. Measurements, taken flat, are:

B: 15″

W: 15″

L: 17″ shoulder to hem

This top provides stretch.

Hey, I learned a thing while researching the history of off-the-shoulder tops, which are also called Bardot tops. If you guessed it was named after beautiful siren Brigitte Bardot, you’d be right! She was known for her clavicle-bearing styles. And this trend is hot right now, so jump on it!

The Guardian has a piece on this cute style, but they’re less-than-enthusiastic about it. Pffftt. I think anyone can rock a top like this.

But the history of this cute style goes way back to the Regency and Victorian eras. Think the 18th and 19th centuries. That off-the-shoulder look is timeless and elegant. I personally love Sandy’s makeover from Grease when she flaunts her figure in a Bardot top. And let’s not forget how elegant Grace Kelly looked in dresses with this neckline. It’s an evergreen look!
