mid-century Egyptian revival dress

Description
This mid-century Egyptian revival dress in crisp cotton is absolutely adorable, and it’s one of a kind! It’s fresh, cool, and super-cute! Those Egyptian symbols across the bottom are truly unique!
The fabric is cool enough to wear in the warmer months, but you could easily layer this cute dress with sweaters, tights, boots, and other wardrobe staples to wear it well into the fall and spring.
This beauty in a bold shade of blue will best fit up to a modern US size L. Measurements taken flat are:
B: 19″
W: 17″ stretched
H: 20″
L: 45″
I would personally pair this cute dress with these neutral Kate Spade pumps and a too on-the-nose alligator bag (even though a crocodile would be more accurate).
Most people know the influence Egyptian imagery had during the 1920s. Its influence is heavily seen in Art Deco fashion, architecture, and jewelry.
But that influence extended well into mid-century culture. The 1960s in particular saw a resurgence of interest in Egyptian culture and fashion thanks to the iconic 1963 Elizabeth Taylor film Cleopatra. Maybe you’ve heard of it?
I like to think this cute dress is a little part of that history. But if you want to read more about Egypt’s impact on fashion, the Art Institute of Chicago has a really fascinating piece.
