Are you ready for this 1940s Lee sanforized shop jacket featuring the most amazing Inland Bananas stitching on the back? It is absolutely bananas!
This jacket has rivet buttons, a back tie to tighten or loosen the fit, and two sets of front pockets. This piece was obviously used in a plant setting as it does have a few stains. I have cleaned this jacket, but there are some industrial stains that could not be removed. It’s still in absolutely wonderful shape with no tears or holes.
I’ve tried my hardest to get some details about Inland Bananas, because I think that’s the best part of this quirky, cool industrial jacket. But alas, I couldn’t find out anything about the history of any company called Inland Bananas. If you have some information about it, I’d love to hear from you!
It’s a great example of vintage workwear. It’s even got its original owner’s name, George, embroidered on the chest. I’m nuts about these types of pieces, and if you love vintage Lee workwear as much as I do, you will not want to miss this piece. It’s truly amazing.
What I really love about vintage workwear is that it was literally built to last. There’s really nothing like it on earth.
