Description
This 1960s black Hawaiian dress from iconic Hawaiian resort wear shop Andrade Honolulu is a form-fitting, wiggle style dress with a beautiful Mandarin collar and side slits to the knee.
You will absolutely turn heads in this gorgeous dress!
I would personally pair this sweetie with these cute black and white checkered print Nine West flats because your girl likes an easy-to-wear look, but it would look extra spicy with a pair of smokin’ stilettos!
This hot babe best fit between a modern US size 0 and 2. For sizing reference, I’m 5’5″ and 115 pounds. I typically wear a US size 2, and this beauty was a little snug on me. Fabric does not provide stretch. Measurements, taken flat, are:
B: 15″
W: 12.5″
H: 16″
L: 57″
Andrade Resort Shops were well-known throughout the Hawaiian Islands for their absolutely gorgeous souvenir wear! The shop opened in the 1950s and quickly grew to a chain of 11 shops throughout the islands. Vintage Label Resource has a great listing on the shop!
I personally get a kick out of old advertisements, and here’s one from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin from 1965:

Andrade had a store in Hawaii’s largest mall, the 55-acre Ala Moana, which is a trip to read about in and of itself. And if you’re aching for the beauty of Hawaii and you want to know more about the mall, there’s a great piece in Hawaii Magazine!
